Detached House Remodel

The family have been living here for a few years, but decided that the conservatory was nearing the end of its useful life. They wanted to use the opportunity  of removing the conservatory to extend the kitchen, remodel the garage and add a master suite at first floor level.

Brief: Remove the existing conservatory and provide a rear extension to the kitchen. Remove and rebuild the existing garage to provide garage space and a utility room to the rear. Extend at first floor level to provide a Master suite. Undertake additional reconfiguration at first floor level to release further space. Update the externals with new windows and new gutters and facia.

The design went through a number of iterations to ensure that the proposed space was within budget but still addressed the brief. The removal of the conservatory and construction of a partial two storey extension, and single storey extension to the rear of the kitchen has allowed for an open plan kitchen / living/ dining space to be created with good access tot he garden and great views from the first floor Master suite over the neighbouring fields. The original garage was demolished and reduced in size, releasing space back into the garden. The redeveloped side extension includes a new garage and utility room.
