Founded by Susan McBain, the practice offers bespoke architecture and design solutions on a project by project basis.
Designs are developed through working closely and collaboratively with our clients. We listen, interpret, advise and challenge their requirements to develop the brief and then deliver the best possible solution in a creative, imaginative and beautiful way.
Sustainability is at the heart of our design process, and we strive to employ Passivhaus principles to achieve buildings which are energy efficient, comfortable, affordable and eco-friendly, as well as being aesthetically pleasing.
As a practice we are well placed to consider your project whether it be large or small, traditional or modern. We enjoy the challenge of using our design skills to answer your questions and achieve a joyful solution which meets your needs, exceeds your aspirations, and embodies your ideas in built form.
At Figura Architecture we offer the following services:
• Options Appraisals
• Feasibility Studies
• Planning Application Submissions
• Building Regulation Submissions
• Detailed Technical Construction Packages
• Site Supervision
• 2D and 3D visualisations
• Handmade 3D models

We look forward to hearing from you.
I studied at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 2002. I am a highly experienced designer, and have spent the last 18 years working in private practice in Cheshire. Initially with Tweed Nuttall Warburton, and latterly as an associate director at Cassidy + Ashton where I developed and lead their architectural team in Chester.
I have a thorough understanding of design and construction across many sectors including residential, education, commercial and industrial.
I have a special interest in building conservation, and passion for sustainable design. I am a RIBA Conservation Registrant, and a member of The Green Register.
Outside architecture my main interests are photography, food, gardening and spending time with my family.
